Step 1 reads as follows: “Draw a diagonal line on the back of all 3-1/2 inch squares in both colors, then stitching along this line, sew a light print square to the right end of each 3-1/2 x 6-1/2 inch large print piece. Trim seam to 1/4 inch then press toward corner. (Use half of each color of squares for this step.)”
The last line (in parenthesis) should not be there, you will use ALL of each color of squares for this step.
