Tis the season for Christmas table runners! We thought we would take some of our quilted table runner patterns and play with Christmas fabrics. Snowmen and snowflakes, Christmas trees and baubles, and all sorts of red and green fabrics combine to make playful table toppers, elegant designs, and some classics in between. We hope our ideas inspire you to create some holiday cheer for your table!
We start with our popular Sidewalks and Squares Quilted Table Runner Pattern. We tried it a bunch of different ways, and finally narrowed it down to two. We couldn’t decide which we liked better so we’re showing them both! We love how the bright green fabric pops against the red, and the dark green accents add a nice touch. We also like how crisp the same green fabric looks against the off-white snowflake design. The red binding makes a nice festive finish.
Next, our Airport Runway Quilted Table Runner Pattern was just begging to be turned into a Christmas table runner! We used the same green fabric to look like ornaments on a tree. Additional fabrics remind us of snowflakes and candy canes, and we just love the whimsical look of this one! You could leave the “trees” as they are in the pattern, or you could rotate the center block to have them all in the same direction. It could depend on where you plan to display it.
Here is another fun look, with our Fancy Windows Quilted Table Topper Pattern. Snowmen, swirls, and Christmas lights all say holiday fun in this cute table runner. The center squares are great to show off a fun fabric, or to fussy cut a special design. It would be easy to add or remove a block from this pattern, if you need a longer or shorter runner.
Set an elegant holiday table with this idea, using our English Garden Quilted Table Topper Pattern. Pulling out the darker greens and burgundy, and adding the navy snowflakes, makes a beautiful and festive table topper.
Last but not least, we took one of our very popular patterns, Random Windows Quilted Table Runner Pattern, and decked it out in Christmas cheer! Isn’t it fun? We love how cheery it looks, and think it would look wonderful on a table or buffet with a few plates of yummy Christmas cookies!
Please note: The fabrics shown in this post are from our collection, and some may no longer be available. Many of them came from Connecting Threads. They have a great selection of holiday fabrics including Christmas, Hanukkah, and winter designs. At the time of this post, their holiday fabrics are on sale, too! Check out all of their winter fabrics here!
